It's a cold day at Hong Kong Disney

Just had a very long day, which started at 8am, and ended just after midnight.

0730hrs - Woke up for breakfast. The day is cold, and not really expecting the chill (stoopid weather report in Singapore predicted 20-25 degree temps in HK, not the 10-18 we got today). Lucky I'm well padded and a blazer is almost enough.. although I was sorely tempted to buy a cheap beanie...

0810hrs - Went for Dim Sum around the corner, as the breakfast the hotel provided was pretty skimpy - coffee, cakes, juice and crossiants with jam. 4 of us went for Dim Sum, and we paid about HK$20 each - cheap!

0900hrs - Meet the gang at the lobby to board bus. Bus trip to HK Disney Hotel takes over an hour.

1030hrs - HP event kicks off. Lots of new products, including 5 new laptops, 2 new projectors and 2 new iPaq PDA phones - one of which is a very lifestyle type, the iPaq hw6800, which HP states was designed in and for Asia. It also that has a serious resembalance to a certain O2 product, which lead to some pointed questions to HP about who designed it ("We did, in our Asia HQ." said HP.)

1300hrs - after 4 very hurried product briefing sessions by seperate product managers, and a Q&A session with HP's VP of.. er, will confirm later.. we had a 8 course lunch in the Hotel, then we went to HK Disneyland for a 'treasure hunt'.

1500hrs - Typically kiasu, us SG jurnos actually ran trhough the 4 tasks that we had to do in the treasure hunt, and we came first... winning some rather nice document pouches, in the meantime, 2 Korean and 1 Chinese jurnos won printers in another contest, while the usual 'pull-the-business-card-out-of-the-hat' contest saw another Korean jurno walk away with a brand new iPaq hx6900 (which, since it was GPRS, he can't use in Korea).

Anyway, we blazed through the treasure hunt in order to free as much time as possible to hit the rides in HK Disney (which isn't that big in comparison to Disney's US theme parks), so we managed to get about 2 hours to try out the Buzz Lightyear ride and Space Mountain. Also hit the usual kirsch souvenior shoppes.

1800hrs - Left HK Disney to return to the Disney hotel for coffee and snacks, before another 1 hour bus ride to the Hong Kong Jockey Club, where had a huge buffet on the 3rd floor terrace, which overlooks the track. We pooled our cash together to bet on a horse for each race, but never got the winner, so each of us lost, like HK$50, which is about SGD$10.

2200hrs - travelled to Man Kok to hit the flea markets, but didn't see anything I really needed to get. Returned to hotel at midnight...

Now my bed looks really, really inviting...
