Rainy day in Hong Kong
I've decided to make an effort to update here more regularly, so here goes...
Sitting in my Hong Kong hotel room at almost midnight, and I'll need to be up at about 7.30am for quite a full day.
The flight from Singapore to here was uneventful, although the rain in Hong Kong made the decent a bit bumpy. Landed at about 3pm, then we got to the hotel and checked in by 5pm.
Here's a couple shoots of the hotel room I stayed in.. I thought it was quite small, untill I found out a couple days later that my corner room was actually a bit bigger than most of the other rooms in the hotel :P

Was supposed to catch up with the usual suspects for dinner at 630pm, but when I got to the lobby, only Marie Ann from Asian Mobile News was around, the others split into two groups, and went off without us! Anyway, had a quick bite in the restaraunt near the hotel (lucky Marie Ann's Mandarin is much better than mine - and she's half English.. although the 'Auntie' spoke English well). Marie went for.. Hong Kong style fried rice, of all things, while I tried the Spare ribs with Fried Noodles, the noodles were big and hand-made, while the ribs were nice, with a hint of mustard.
Caught up with Andrew from HWM, Venessa from Today and Darius from CNET, and we went on a trip to the Victoria Peak tram station. Apart from trying the MTR (just like the MRT, only a bit more expensive), we walked from the Admiralty station to the tram station - bad idea, as the rain shifted from a drizzle to a a constant pour, and the tempreture dropped to aboput 10 degrees, which was a bit of a problem for us macho guys, me wearing a t-shirt and shirt, Andrew in a blazer, and Darius in his pink polo!
The Peak view wasn't much also, considering the fog rolling in obscured all the view, so we had an expensive desert in the restaraunt there, then trammed down the hill to catch a cab (us tech jurnos are known for our brains.. we learnt from our mistake).
So it's back in the hotel room for a hot shower, a hot drink, then bed.
Wake-up is 7am, we're gonna check out the brekkie buffet. And if that doesn't work, we're gonna go for Dim sum.
9.30am is the bus trip to HK Disneyland, where HP are gonna unveil a whole lot of new products (can't talk about them, signed a non-disclosure agreement). Hopefully, there's time for couple of rides (not expecting much, time and weather will probably conspire against us), then it's off to the Hong Kong Jockey CLub for a swish dinner.
More tomorrow night.
