Blitzed on a Tuesday nite, and loving it.
Went to a couple of press events tonight. It was a bit hectic, but more than compensated for by the free flow of booze at both events.
I had a real blast, and got quite drunk, especially since its a work night, and I do have to be back in the office in the morning.
Funny though... I was totally blasted at midnight, but now, at almost 3am, I'm very mellow, if still a bit keyed up. Drinking a lot of water before bed though, to re-hydrate.
The press events, especially the H-P regional Big Bang event, were a real hoot. H-P, tends go all out at regional events, and what they did was set up a product launch cum showcase on the helipad of the 70th storey SwissHotel Stamford! A breathtaking view is an understatement, although being achrophobic, I did have a mild sense of vertigo through out the event, which got a bit worse with every glass of wine I downed! Thankfully, there was only a mild wind, and the building didn't sway...
One Lesson learnt - Lychee Martini has a real alcoholic kick... especially after 1 vodka orange, 2 glasses of red wine, 1 glass of champagne and 3 glasses of white wine!
The best thing about the whole night, however, was that I finally managed to catch up with an old friend and colleague that I haven't had a chance to 'hang' with in 2 years. I only spent 4 months working together with her, and that almost exactly 2 years ago... but I still think that it was the best job I've ever had, with a great person to learn from, and a good synergy and chemistry that we developed between us.
Funny how I miss the time I spent working with her, when it was only for 4 months so long ago. I've had 4 other jobs since then, but none that I can seriously compare to having as much fun, while really learning a new job, with colleagues as nice and 'together' as that time.
