What a week

Thank God it's the weekend, and time to unwind and catch up on very much needed sleep.

It's been a packed week. Reservist ended on Friday after lunch, but included a 3 day field exercise from early Monday morning to Wednesday that included a midnight to 10am 'operation'. Then it was back to camp to clean and pack stores before going home on Wednesday night.

Thursday was more normal, but I had a 5am to midnight day, although I did manage to make it in time to attend the MTV Asia Fashionably Loud event at Ngee Ann City Atrium.

Screaming crowds of kids is not my usual cup of tea, but I was there primarily because PLACEBO were playing a 9 song set.. they don't come East much, so it was good to finally see them live, especially as they did play 'Every Me, Every You.'

I know these kind of exclusive events are hard to get into, but I sometimes wonder at the mentality of some Singaporeans... their Kia-Su-ness.

I mean... what the heck were 4 50+ year old 'Aunties' doing there? And why did a kid drag his 50+ year old mom all the way to the front, right next to the speaker tower? She came out with her ears stuffed with tissue paper and a dazed expression...

It's Placebo for God's Sake! What the hell were they expecting? Nora Jones singing a soft sweet ballad?

And as for Friday.. right after I got out-processed from camp, I jumped into a cab to head to the office to finish up the next issue... so I really am in need of a restful weekend...
