Where'd I go?

"Sometimes we need to take a holiday from ourselves in order to discover who we really are."

It was after I SMS'ed this message to a friend that I realised that this definitely applied to me as well.

Am I comfortable in my own skin? Do I know who I really am?

give yourself some time to falter
But don't forgo
knowing that you're loved no matter what
and everything will come around

I guess that we all grow tired of the responsibilities and burdens that life instills on us. For me, I haven't been on a 'proper' vacation in years - one where I can just forget about everything - every little care, burden and responsibility that I bear, whether it's work or family related.

And the fact is that I'm once again feeling depressingly lonely.

Taking some time off, not only from work, but from my life suddenly seems oh so very appealing - to just go someplace where you don't have to be yourself, where you can indulge in some of your daydreams... to be carefree, even if it's for a few days... to just be alive...

God.. that sounds so appealing...
