Baby day Friday

I had a strangely baby fun-filled Friday.

So it's a long weekend here in Singapore, thanks to Vesek Day (hey, Buddhist need holidays to, after all, and it's only fair that the rest of the country gets to enjoy it along with them...perks of living in a multicultural country, after all).

Slept in, then at around 2pm, went to Joshua's 2nd Birthday - Joshua being the son of my cousin Cindy. Also present - cousin Selina's 3 month old Sophie and cousin Calvin's 3 and 4 year old daughters, Rebecca and Rachel (I think I got the names right).

Sophie looked just like a Cabbage Patch kid, with very fair skin and chubby cheeks. She went swimming with her dad Mark, and I used the opportunity to test out a Fujifilm S9500 semi-pro camera I reviewed last month.. but forgot to return.

Cindy's Joshua spent some time running around in circles, and that was before he cut his cake! Calvin's two girls were dressed alike (again), but they were quite precocious, for as soon as I took a snap, the wanted to see the image on the camera's LCD display!

Right after the party, I went to catch up with a friend I haven't seen in almost a year, and her 6 month old son Colin. Spent some time playing with Colin, who's a particularly quiet but alert 6 month old, absolutely adorable and super huggable.

I was then in Bishan having dinner and catching up with Candy, when I ran into Ian Tan and his little girl Isabel..

Baby photos will be up on my Flickr site soon. I didn't get a snap of Ian's daughter Isabel, but since her dad is a far better photographer than I am, I reckon he'll have a few up on his blogsite!

ADDENDUM: Seems that my older brother and sister-in-law were saving a surprise announcement for Monther's Day dinner... so it looks like I'm gonna be an uncle in Novemeber. It took a while for my mum to realise the news..

Ah well.. wish my dad was around, but I'm sure that up in Heaven, he's got a super-huge grin on his face.
