I feel good!

Actually, 'I Feel Good Inc' the Gorillaz song that I was listening to while jogging, and not the Ray Charles song that Pepsi uses.

Weee... finally got back to some serious exercise after a 1.5 month break. I blame a peristent foot injury that I aggravated during that last IPPT test, where I clocked 13.50 in the 2.4km. Still not there yet.

But since I've got my next IPPT scheduled for mid-August (gonna reschedule it to late-August), I really need to get back into the jogging groove.

So I gave myself a month and a half off, but it was supposed to have been a week off! But the left foot started acting up and really hurting, and its only been in the past 3 weeks where I can actually wear normal footwear again (instead of my dirty pair of sneakers to office, and meetings because of the pain).

Anyhow. I really do feel better after exercising. I guess its the fact that my body simply doesn't get enough adrenalin on a regular basis, being a rather sedimentary person who works really long hours. The hardest part about exercising is actually getting the butt into gear and start exercising. Once I got a few sessions under the belt, I'm good at improving my fitness levels.

Still after all that time, I did my warm-ups - jumping jacks to get the heart rate up, then my streches (especially hamstring and achillies tendon) then decided to go for a light paced jog. I'm very happy that I did 16 minutes non-stop. Must have covered at least 3km on the footpaths of the park near my house. Then I did my required 15 min warm down walk, although I didn't go for my usual fast walk (good post-run aerobic burner that). Oh, and add in 40 crunches and some light weight workout prior to the jog. Now... if I can just maintain a daily regime of crunches and weights...

All in all, I'm very encouraged that I haven't lost as much of my fitness as I thought. Fingers crossed on improving things, and getting into a twice weekly jogging routine. Lets see if I can add to the 4 kilos I lost in the past three months. Now 80kg, and hope to hit 75kg by my 35th birthday.
